Hilda Baci
Hilda Effiong Bassey, more popularly known as Hilda Baci, is a chef from Nigeria who happens to be a content creator on YouTube. Chef Hilda is a host, TV presenter, and most of all a foodpreneuer. Born on September 20th, 1996 in Nsit Ubium, Baci hails from Akwa Ibom state, southern Nigerian.
Baci’s educational background can be traced to Uto where she attended St. Mary’s Nursery and Primary School. She excelled academically and socially. She enrolled in Queen’s College Yaba, a very prestigious secondary school for girls in Lagos state. Her undergraduate studies were done at Madonna University in Okija, River’s state, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Hilda Baci is the second child and only daughter born to Mr. and Mrs Effiong Ekaette Bassey. They were civil servants and a teacher respectively. Baci’s mother is also reportedly a chef by profession and was also a source of inspiration to her daughter. Hilda has two siblings; an older brother named Iniobong and a younger brother named Anietie.
Being passionate about the cooking business, she started her career as a chef and she is currently the CEO and Head chef of MyFoodbyHilda and has built a large fan base on the internet where she posts cooking videos and others.
In March this year (2023), Baci announced she would be attempting to break and set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon a fit she achieved by cooking for a total period of 93 hours 11 minutes. The record was previously held by Lata Tondon an Indian chef whose cooking marathon lasted for exactly 87 hours, 45 minutes in year 2019.
Being an established chef, she apparently spent over N80m on her record breaking cooking spell having a net worth estimated to be at about $250,000.
